ok. .here's my take. i had some crappy cassette head unit when i bought mine. i also didn't have much money left over when i bought my 90 2+2. so i went and bought (insert booing) a Dual (thats the brand name) motorized cd player. now, its not the best quality, but its fun watching people get in my car, and "ooh" and "ahh!" at it. and the blue color matches the rest of my car. but back to the main point. it is motorized and looks to be very similar to that kenwood you have a picture of. due to the angle of the dash trim piece that surrounds the head unit, i had to fandangle it so that the front of the head unit sticks out a little further than it is supposed to else the unit cannot open all the way (that = badness). so i just put a few washers on the screws that hold the mounting bracket in, but i put them behind the bracket so as to make a small (maybe 1/4 inch) buffer so push the head unit up a little.
